- i've tried to be open minded about it, but anyone who supports bush will never be my friend. period. oh, habeas corpus is dead btw, so try not to look like a minority, because it's suspicious.
- the fountain was incredible. i almost broke down like 8 times.
- affirmative action is racism. i agree with that. but i don't agree with the notion that america is ready to judge people based on merit alone. since race still plays a huge role in how america thinks, due to preconceived notions and biased observations, it's obviously going to be a factor in how positions in the workplace and universities are filled. and i'm all for giving the most qualified person the position, but without affirmative action, schools and corporations would be very white, simply because many still believe that white is right, and that whites are always the most qualified. until america is ready to accept that everyone is capable of everything, i think fighting racism using racism is one of the smartest things ever. at my workplace today, senior manager positions are generally filled by white males.
- i am mega mega stoked for wherever my parents end up living in the city. i will be living with them once my lease is up at my studio. for those not in the know, i hate my studio. on more than a few occasions during the past few weeks, i've take cold showers. and i rarely go an entire shower with continuous water pressure. it's hell.
- work is getting insane. i cannot wait until thanksgiving, followed by my birthday. then jan 2 to jan 9 i'll be in OOOAAAAKLAND!! to visit my kuya azeem and my ate joellen. just bought the plane tickets yesterday :)
- but i get to see joellen TOMORROW! she's back to run in the marathon. do it up, jo!
happy october.
of note:
the end.
of note:
- ruby doesn't live in chicago anymore. pretty sad stuff.
- massive attack was amazing. what a great show.
- gonna see south on tuesday night with abbu. hope their opening bands aren't total rejects like last time.
- DISK JOCKEY SHADOW 10/9.
- the fountain, the new darren aronofsky movie, premieres sometime in the middle of this month, and he's going to be at the premiere. i wanna go. tickets are $15.
- science of sleep was also amazing. check that out as soon as you can. i can't help but think of my suitemate from sophomore year after watching that movie.
- i kind of feel like i'm extremely unlucky lately. after receiving my new studio monitors (FINALLY) i realized that there was a buzzing noise coming from one of the monitors due to a faulty power amp inside of the monitor, and that it needs to be sent in for repair (and i'm not sure if i have the proper warranty details...). also, most of the weekend i didn't have hot water. just...bullshit. maybe i do complain a lot, but i don't think i'm illogical to do so.
- started planning the trip to san fran/oakland to visit azeem and joellen. will most likely be jan 2-9. ALDRIDGE: get at me once you know you can go.
the end.
